Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Carolina Alvarez: Nurturing Healing Through Attachment, Trauma-Informed, and Child-Centered Play Therapy.

Carolina is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University and certifications in American Sign Language and Children’s Mental Health from Mohawk College. Carolina specializes in an integrated approach to therapy, drawing upon the principles of attachment theory, trauma-informed therapy, and child-centred play therapy. With a deep understanding of how early relationships shape our emotional landscapes, Carolina provides a safe and nurturing space where individuals of all ages can explore their experiences and find healing.

Using attachment theory as a foundation, and with over a decade of experience working with children, Carolina helps clients understand how their early attachment patterns influence their current relationships and behaviours. Through trauma-informed therapy techniques, she offers gentle guidance and support to navigate past traumas without feeling overwhelmed or re-traumatized. Central to Carolina’s practice is child-centred play therapy, a modality that allows children to express themselves and process their experiences through play. By engaging in playful and creative activities, children can communicate their thoughts and feelings in a natural and non-threatening way, fostering healing and growth.

Whether you’re an adult struggling with unresolved childhood wounds or a child facing challenges in your development, Carolina offers personalised support tailored to your unique needs. With her compassionate presence and evidence-based interventions, she empowers her clients to reclaim their sense of agency and resilience, fostering a journey of healing and self-discovery. Working with Carolina, you can embark on a transformative path toward healing, building stronger connections with yourself and others along the way.
