Ivan has over 7 years of experience working with adults presenting a variety of mental health difficulties due to depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, low self-esteem, and stress. Ivan’s client-centered approach is informed by his experience working with different populations in the Dominican Republic, United Kingdom, and Canada in both English and Spanish. With Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy as his main therapeutic approach, Ivan also draws resources from other evidence-based modalities like Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy, EMDR, and Solution-Focused Therapy in order to ensure the best fit for your needs. His main goal is to provide a safe space for you to explore, understand and change the patterns that hold you back in the pursuit of your goals.

 

Education: Ivan is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a member in good standing of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). He is also a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Ivan holds a B.A. in Psychology from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic and an MSc. in Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapy from the University of Derby in the UK.
