Nishith has been working as a counsellor over the past 6 years. Nishith has worked with diverse populations experiencing mental health difficulties such as substance abuse, concurrent disorders, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and mood disorders. Nishith operates through a client-centred approach, with a commitment to practice through an anti-oppression and non-judgmental framework. In practice, Nishith utilizes evidence-based practices whilst working collaboratively with clients to achieve their therapeutic goals.
Nishith’s clinical approach is embedded within modalities such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness. Alongside individual therapy, Nishith has also provided services through group therapies such as psychoeducational groups and process groups to promote holistic approaches toward client care. Nishith is able to provide services in languages such as Gujarati, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi.
Education: Nishith is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and is in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Nishith holds a B.Sc. in Psychology from York University, Addictions Mental Health Worker (Graduate Certificate) – Durham College, and M.A in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Nishith is certified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), GAIN – Q3 MI Ontario (Assessment), and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (NVCPI).
