Lorena is a mother, children’s book Author, and a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with over 20 years of clinical experience supporting diverse youth, young adults and their families. She specializes in working with individuals who have been impacted by various complex mental health and substance use issues including trauma, addiction, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and psychosis.
Education: Lorena holds a Degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto and has an Addictions Diploma from Georgian College. She is knowledgeable and skilled at utilizing a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.

Being a young adult is hard, it can be a time of behavior challenges, learning difficulties, peer conflicts, anxiety or depression. Parents are still the biggest source of influence in the life of young adult’s life. By focusing on relationship patterns and communication, I can help support your family through difficult times. Helping your young adult learn skills to improve relationships with family, friends and with themselves.

Parent Counselling
Helping you build your capacity for supporting the young adult in your life. Helping you navigate your own history and conditioning as relevant to parenting.

If you believe based on what you have read, that I might be able to assist you, you can book your first session here. After this session I will make a recommendation for treatments moving forward. Should a diagnosis/assessment/medication management be warranted, we will help facilitate that.
