Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Safiya Dakhli

Safiya is a culturally sensitive and compassionate Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Registered Nurse dedicated to meeting clients where they are at in their healing journey. In saying this, Safiya aims to create a supportive and validating space where clients can develop new insights and perspectives on their situation in a paced manner.

Safiya has worked as an inpatient Mental Health Nurse for the past four years. In this role, Safiya has supported clients with Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, psychosis, and anxiety. Safiya has also received specialized training in supporting individuals with childhood trauma and CPTSD through working as a student intern at Women’s College Hospital in their Trauma Therapy Program.

Safiya is adaptable and uses a variety of psychotherapy modalities in her practice. She can provide short-term, solution-oriented therapy to help clients address immediate concerns. She is skilled in helping clients analyze their thoughts and behaviors through applying a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework. She regularly integrates the tenets of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment theory to help clients get to the root of their emotions and heal exiled or wounded inner parts.

Education: Safiya holds a Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). She also possesses a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Toronto Metropolitan University. Safiya is a member in good standing with both the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
