Music Therapy is an Evidence-Based Treatment to support and enhance the Mental Wellbeing of an individual. It involves the use of various music elements, such as Rhythm, Melody, Voice, Instruments and Lyrics to address Social, Physical, Emotional, and Cognitive needs & improve Mental Health challenges.

Music Used in Music Therapy

During a Music Therapy session, you will work with our Certified Music Therapist on an effective treatment plan that consists of different methods and Therapy modalities for your individual needs. Here are some common methods used in Music Therapy for Mental Health:

  • Singing
  • Playing pre-composed and improvised music
  • Using instruments
  • Listening to music and learning how to use preferred music meaningfully (ex: creating theraputic playlists)
  • Song writing
  • Analyzing music or song lyrics
