Baaba’s commitment to supporting client mental well-being is guided by cultural awareness. She is conscious of the fact that a client’s cultural orientation influences their lived experience and plays an important role in their mental health. Baaba has expertise in the areas of assessment and psychotherapy. As such, she has worked with clients in both clinical and private practice settings in Africa, the Middle East and North America, providing psychological interventions for a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety and neurobehavioural difficulties.
She works collaboratively with her clients in identifying therapeutic goals, developing suitable treatment plans and providing coping tools for managing stress, anger, grief and navigating difficult life transitions.
Baaba is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). She graduated from the United Arab Emirates University with an MSc in Clinical Psychology and from the University of Waterloo with a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience.
