Registered Psychotherapist | Play and Creative Arts Psychotherapist

Sometimes life moves so quickly that getting through the day takes most of our energy. Routines repeat, responsibilities grow, and we may lose touch with what brings us joy, balance, or a sense of purpose. We can feel stuck in worries, conflict, painful experiences, or familiar patterns. Sarah offers a warm, gentle space to slow down, feel grounded, and explore what matters. She believes therapy can make room for curiosity, creativity, and play—even when life feels heavy.

Sarah’s approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and neurodivergent-affirming, with thoughtful, direct guidance when helpful. Attachment and emotional safety are central to her work, including supporting parents in building safe, responsive relationships with their children. She helps clients explore how early experiences and disruptions in connection may influence their relationships and sense of self, while respecting their pace, strengths, and individual needs.

Sarah supports children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, ADHD, learning differences, emotional regulation, developmental trauma, grief, PMDD, parenting, and relationship challenges. Her integrative practice draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, mindfulness, somatic approaches, and parts work informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST). With couples, she incorporates Gottman Method principles to support communication, emotional connection, and conflict management, with a particular interest in neurodivergent couples.

For Sarah, play offers space to explore, imagine, and connect without pressure to perform. Her creative and experiential approach may include sand tray, clay, drawing, drama, visualization, and movement. Through imagery, metaphor, and symbolism, clients can give shape to experiences that are difficult to put into words and discover their own meanings. For those who find it meaningful, this exploration can also include spirituality, wonder, and connection to something beyond oneself. Sarah adapts these experiences to each client’s comfort, sensory needs, and ways of learning.

Sarah has a strong interest in research exploring the brain and its connection to the body and nervous system, particularly how these relationships shape emotions, responses to stress, and experiences of connection. At the heart of her work is helping clients feel understood, recognize their strengths, and reconnect with meaning and moments of joy.

Sarah is a Registered Psychotherapist and a certified play and creative arts therapist. Over eight years, she completed a Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills, a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy through Adler Graduate School in Toronto, and an MA in Practice-Based Play Therapy from Leeds Beckett University, UK. She has also completed coursework in Adler’s Master of Psychology program as a student-at-large.
