Sara Dalrymple

Registered Social Worker

Sara received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Windsor, and went on to obtain her Master of Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Sara is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

Her approach is non-judgmental, flexible and genuine, and she works hard to provide a safe, validating and inclusive environment for clients. With a casual, creative and humorous style, Sara uses an integrative and trauma-informed approach to therapy, pulling from numerous therapeutic-modalities and skill-sets. With over 10 years in clinical practice, Sara has a passion for and strong experience in the development and evaluation of treatment programs. She aims to continually learn new best practices and approaches to therapy and counselling – most especially in the treatment of eating disorders. Sara has been specializing in eating disorders, disordered eating and body dissatisfaction since 2018. She practices from a non-diet and weight-inclusive framework. Sara assists her clients in improving their relationship with food/eating; discovering intuitive eating principles and challenging rigid dietary rules; learning to listen to their bodies; developing body-respect and improving body image; and exploring socio-cultural and historic influences on eating and appearance standards.

With experience in the non-for-profit sector and on multidisciplinary teams, Sara appreciates the importance of collaboration in care and across providers, and integrating a multi-diagnostic, holistic perspective in therapy. Sara also has interest in mood and anxiety disorders, attachment and relational concerns, BPD, and neurodivergence. She has worked closely with emotion dysregulation and management, developing distress-tolerance skills, managing stress and burnout, problem-solving interpersonal difficulties, exploring attachment-based perspectives, and implementing affirming, strengths-based approaches for managing ADHD and neurodivergence.
