FAQ
Naturopathic medicine is not covered under OHIP. However, most extended health benefit plans in Ontario provide coverage for naturopathic services. Coverage varies depending on your provider and plan.
We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage details.
We may recommend testing such as:
- Iron and B12 levels
- Thyroid function
- Hormonal panels
- Vitamin D
- Metabolic markers
Testing is only recommended when clinically indicated.
Not always. While targeted supplementation may be recommended, lifestyle and nutrition strategies are often foundational.
All recommendations are personalized and discussed with you before implementation.
Yes. B12 injections are available at BeWell and can support energy production, mood regulation, cognitive clarity, and correction of B12 deficiency.
B12 shots are offered as an add-on during your naturopathic treatment appointment, following appropriate assessment. Your naturopathic doctor will determine whether supplementation is suitable for you based on your health history and, when applicable, lab results.
This ensures safe, personalized care aligned with your overall treatment plan.
Yes. Many clients who are initially nervous about acupuncture are surprised by how gentle the experience feels. Acupuncture needles are extremely thin, sterile, and designed to minimize discomfort. Most people feel little to no pain, and many find sessions deeply relaxing.
If you have concerns, your naturopathic doctor will take time to explain the process, move at a pace that feels comfortable, and adjust the treatment approach as needed.
We also offer different session lengths to accommodate your needs and comfort level. Shorter appointments are available if you prefer to start gradually.
Your comfort and sense of safety are always a priority.
Naturopathic medicine is an evidence-informed approach to health that focuses on optimizing sleep, stress response, digestion, hormones, and nutrient balance. It combines modern research with lifestyle medicine, targeted supplementation, and natural therapies to support overall wellbeing.
At BeWell, naturopathy works alongside therapy, psychological assessment, and psychiatric care.
A Naturopathic Doctor (ND) in Ontario completes a minimum of four years of accredited naturopathic medical education after undergraduate studies. This includes training in biomedical sciences, clinical diagnosis, lab interpretation, nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, and lifestyle medicine.
Licensed Naturopathic Doctors must pass standardized board examinations and are regulated by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO). They are required to maintain continuing education and follow strict professional standards.
