How many Therapy appointments do I need?

The therapy process is different for everyone.

There is no guaranteed number of sessions you need to attend to “start feeling better.” It all depends on individual needs and circumstances. You will work with your therapist on your treatment goals and expectations to determine when the right time is to close this chapter.

Therapy is a practice as well as a treatment. It’s great to seek help when we are in need of it, but as with any other medical intervention, check-ins and maintenance yield the best results! Our practitioners allow the greatest schedule flexibility possible for your convenience. Additionally, we recognize that time and money are precious resources and can work with you to establish a schedule that supports your needs. Here are some scenarios as a baseline:

Short-term therapy: 6 to 12 sessions

Ideal for focused concerns like managing stress, a breakup, or situational anxiety.

Medium-term therapy: 12 to 24 sessions

Often used for moderate depression, anxiety disorders, or relationship challenges.

Long-term therapy: Ongoing (6+ months)

Recommended for more complex or long-standing concerns, such as trauma, personality disorders, or deep-rooted emotional patterns.
