Katlyn is a Registered Psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience in mental health and addiction. Her work has focused on supporting individuals impacted by substance use, depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, stress, and grief and loss.
Alongside this individual work, her professional and personal growth has led her to a strong interest in couples therapy and the complexities that show up in close relationships. She has completed Level 1 and Level 2 training through The Gottman Institute, a research-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on practical tools, skill building, and evidence-based interventions to help partners improve communication, strengthen friendship, and manage conflict in healthier ways.
Katlyn integrates a variety of modalities into her practice, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Attachment and Trauma Focused Therapy.
Katlyn understands that reaching out and connecting can be difficult, and that it is an important step in the therapeutic journey. Asking for help is a sign of resilience that can be nurtured in a supportive environment. She values a client-centred approach and creates a warm and welcoming space where clients can feel safe, supported, and heard without judgment. Katlyn is committed to helping clients find healing, strength, and hope in their lives, both individually and within their relationships.
Katlyn holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a diploma in Addiction Studies through McMaster University. She is also a Certified Trauma Integration Clinician (CTIC) through the Attachment and Trauma Treatment Centre for Healing. She has been a registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario since 2017.
Alongside her clinical work, Katlyn plays a key role as a Clinical Supervisor within our practice.
