Lorena is a mother, children’s book Author, and a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with over 20 years of clinical experience supporting diverse youth, young adults and their families. She specializes in working with individuals who have been impacted by various complex mental health and substance use issues including trauma, addiction, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and psychosis. Emotions are a part of the human experience and we all experience pain and suffering in our lifetime. Lorena can facilitate a journey of healing, she offers an inviting, inclusive and safe space to be able to process difficult feelings and experiences. She has a passion for health and well-being as well as helping others achieve their personal wellness goals which is evident in her warm compassionate strength-based approach. She is dedicated to providing a supportive non-judgemental environment where people will feel valued and heard. She strongly values fostering a sense of connection with people to open the opportunity for them to develop insight, self-awareness and effective coping skills so that they can feel mobilized to move forward in a sustainable and meaningful way.
Education: Lorena holds a Degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto and has an Addictions Diploma from Georgian College. She is knowledgeable and skilled at utilizing a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.
