Sydney has 5 years of experience working with diverse populations in the non-profit sector facing various mental health issues. Sydney offers a holistic therapeutic approach with the guiding principles of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and creating a safe, non-judgmental, and genuine connection with clients.

 

Sydney utilizes a strengths-based, trauma-informed, person-centred approach and incorporates principles and techniques from Psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused therapy, and the Biopsychosocial model.

 

Education: Sydney is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Honours, degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Psychology and Criminology. She has a diploma in concurrent disorders and social service work from Mohawk College. She is currently completing her Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
