What does “Qualifying” mean for Registered Psychotherapists?

A Registered Psychotherapist may still be completing their clinic hours under the supervision of another Registered Psychotherapist, and this must be designated under a “Qualifying” status! However, they are still fully trained, licensed, and able to treat patients!

If your practitioner’s receipt indicates that they are “Qualifying,” please file any insurance claims under the name and license number of their supervisor. This is as per the instructions of the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario.
