Our Talk Therapy and Assessments services are covered under most extended health care plans:

• Talk Therapy services can be billed and covered in most cases under: Psychotherapy, Social Work, and Psychology services.
• Assessment Programs can be billed and covered in most cases under: Psychology services.

Yes, we do. At BeWell, we are committed to providing high-quality, accessible mental health care in accordance with the Health Insurance Act and the Commitment to the Future of Medicare Act (CFMA). Our psychiatrists offer OHIP-insured services.

For Internal Clients (actively enrolled in BeWell programs):

1. You may be eligible to access OHIP-covered short-term medication management services with our psychiatrists.

2. These services are available after a completing one of our Assessment Programs or while attending Talk Therapy services.

3. To see our Psychiatry team, we require a referral form from your Family Doctor. Contact our Care Team to help you sort out next steps.

For External Clients (not currently enrolled in BeWell programs):

1. Due to limited capacity, we are prioritizing psychiatric appointments for internal clients.

2. However, we maintain an external waitlist for OHIP-covered medication management services. We will review referrals from the waitlist as availability permits.

3. You may be added to this list by contacting us and submitting a referral along with your referral form from your Family Doctor

4. Services will be offered to waitlisted individuals as availability allows.

Note (internal and external clients): Our psychiatrists do not conduct diagnostic assessments. Their role is limited to supporting treatment through short-term medication management. Learn more about our Psychiatry services here.

We are proud to offer  in-person appointments at our Mississauga, Hamilton, and Toronto centres and virtual appointments anywhere in Ontario. All our practitioners provide virtual, online video sessions. You are welcome to book according to your needs and comfort. 

OHIP does not cover Psychology, Psychotherapy, or Social Work services. The provincial health plan is applicable only to medical doctors and nurses. Medication management and Psychiatry services at BeWell are covered by OHIP.

The price of a session varies depending on the practitioner’s credential and duration of the service. The price for a 50-min session starts at $135.

Yes, we do. 

Our team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychotherapists, and Social Workers have developed personalized & comprehensive assessments programs for kids, youth, and adults. To see all our Assessment Programs, visit the Assessments section of our website.

We can bill most insurance companies directly for services booked and billed as Psychology and Social Work. This includes Psychology appointments provided by a Registered Psychotherapist. We cannot direct bill for Psychotherapy appointments.
